Security Forces Recover Arms and Ammunition in Manipur Amid Heightened Vigilance

Northeast Desk, 1st October: In a series of search and area domination operations, security forces in Manipur have successfully recovered arms and ammunition from the vulnerable hill and valley districts. The operations, carried out in Mongbung and Kashimpur Balijuri villages of *Jiribam District, resulted in the recovery of two submachine carbines, two magazines, 199 empty casings, and an improvised explosive device (IED), identified as a Pompi bomb.

The heightened security efforts also ensured the safe passage of essential goods across *National Highways NH-37 and NH-2, critical routes for the state. A total of 703 vehicles were escorted under tight security along these highways to guarantee safe transit, reinforcing the state’s supply chain amid ongoing tensions.

To further enhance security, 113 checkpoints have been established across various districts, monitoring movement and ensuring the maintenance of law and order. No detentions were reported during these operations, highlighting the effectiveness of the security measures in safeguarding public safety and ensuring the free movement of essential items throughout the state.

The continued vigilance by security forces underscores the ongoing commitment to stabilizing the region while ensuring critical supplies reach those in need.
