Security Forces Recover Arms Cache and Stolen Vehicles in Manipur
Imphal: In a major crackdown on illegal activities, security forces conducted extensive search operations and area domination exercises across vulnerable hill and valley districts of Manipur, resulting in the recovery of a significant cache of arms and ammunition.
During operations near Zero Point N. Boljang village track, approximately 5 km north of COB Kotlen under New Keithelmanbi Police Station in Kangpokpi District, security personnel seized a range of weapons and explosives.
The recovered items included two 7.62 mm SLR rifles with magazines, one .22 mm country-made pistol with a magazine, one improvised mortar (Pompi), two country-made pull mechanism rifles, six mortar bombs, eight rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, and one Motorola (Baofeng) handset.
In a separate operation on March 21, Manipur Police recovered two suspected stolen vehicles from Ushoipokpi along NH-102 under Lilong Police Station in Thoubal District. The recovered vehicles were a white Maruti Swift ZXI (Registration No. ML04D 1580) and a grey Maruti Swift VXI (Registration No. WB02AF 6824). Authorities are verifying the vehicles’ origins and their possible connection to criminal networks.
Security forces have intensified operations in the region, focusing on curbing the movement of illegal arms and stolen goods. Investigations are ongoing to identify those responsible for the recovered items and to prevent further unlawful activities.
