
Security Forces Recover Cache of Weapons in Manipur Operation
Imphal: In a concerted effort to ensure peace and stability in the hill and valley districts of Manipur, security forces carried out extensive search operations and area domination exercises in fringe and vulnerable regions.
The operation, which took place in the vicinity of Nepali Basti, Vietum Khullen-Khoken village road under New Keithelmanbi Police Station, Kangpokpi District, led to the recovery of a substantial cache of weapons and equipment.
The recovered items include a range of firearms and explosives, such as One 5.56 mm Heckler & Koch G3 rifle with a magazine, One modified .303 sniper rifle, One .22 pistol with a magazine, and One single-barrel rifle.
Additionally, Two improvised mortars, Five .303 live rounds, Two Chinese hand grenades, and One Motorola (Baofeng) handset were also seized.
The operation highlights the vigilance and proactive measures undertaken by security forces to address security concerns in sensitive areas.
This effort is part of a broader initiative to stabilize the region and prevent violence.
Similar operations have been conducted in other districts, including Churachandpur, where joint operations by the Indian Army and local police led to the seizure of 12 firearms and explosive materials.
