Several Flights Delayed as Cold Wave Grips National Capital

Guwahati: As many as 20 flights from Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) were delayed on Saturday as a result of bad weather and other operational problems, said an official at the Delhi airport.

Around 13 inbound flights from various places were delayed due to cold wave conditions and dense fog that are being experienced throughout North India, including the nation’s capital.

“There was no flight diversion reported till 6 AM,” said an official at the airport.

“Visibility is very low at the airport amid the severe cold that we all have been experiencing,” said passengers at Delhi’s IGI.

The IGIA issued a warning and started a procedure in response to the poor visibility produced by the fog on Saturday.

Airport officials stated that multiple measures had been taken to address the threat of poor visibility at the airport in a warning to travelers.

Authorities added that passengers who want the most recent information on the status of their flights should get in touch with the relevant airline.
