Guwahati: A significant fire broke out in the Maligaon area of Guwahati on Wednesday engulfing up to 10 temporary homes.
According to reports, the fire started last night at around 12 in the morning in B G Colony in the Gotanagar area near Maligaon.
At least 10 homes belonging to the local labourers in the region were completely consumed by the raging flames. Property worth lakhs was burnt to ash in the fire
Additionally, locals reported that the kitchen is where the fire started.
Meanwhile, firefighters from the ISBT fire station hurried to the site. After much effort they were able to put out the flames.
Furthermore, local police from the Jalukbari and Maligaon police stations rushed to the spot.
