PM Modi arrived in Shimla’s Ridge Maidan on Tuesday to take part in the ‘Garib Kalyan Sammelan.’ At the event, which was held to commemorate the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government’s eighth anniversary, he mingled with beneficiaries of various government initiatives.

Modi was greeted warmly in Himachal Pradesh today, as a large crowd gathered in Shimla to see a roadshow commemorating the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) government’s eighth year in power. The BJP-led government of Narendra Modi came to an end after eight years in power on May 30.
PM Modi made a dig at the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government, which was in office at the time before the BJP, saying that the administration before to 2014 saw “corruption as an essential element of the system.” He claimed that instead of battling corruption, it had surrendered to it.
