Shiv Sena Workers Vandalize Comedy Club Over Kunal Kamra’s Remarks on Eknath Shinde

National: Political tensions flared in Mumbai on Sunday, March 23, as Shiv Sena workers vandalized the Habitat Comedy Club in Khar in response to comedian Kunal Kamra’s recent remarks about Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The incident has intensified the ongoing rivalry between the Shiv Sena factions.

Reacting to the controversy, Shiv Sena MP Naresh Mhaske launched a scathing attack on Kamra, branding him a “hired comedian” who allegedly targeted their leader for financial gain. Mhaske also criticized Sanjay Raut and the Shiv Sena (UBT) faction, claiming they lacked committed members to challenge Shinde, forcing them to rely on outsiders like Kamra to voice their opposition.

“Kunal Kamra is a hired comedian making comments on our leader for money. Not just in Maharashtra, he cannot go anywhere freely in India. Shiv Sainiks will show him his place. We feel sorry for Sanjay Raut and the Shiv Sena (UBT) as they have no leaders left to speak against Shinde, forcing them to hire people like Kamra,” Mhaske said while speaking to ANI.

He further emphasized the party’s allegiance to Balasaheb Thackeray’s ideology and warned that Kamra would face a “befitting reply” for his remarks. Meanwhile, law enforcement is investigating the vandalism incident as political tensions continue to rise in the state.
