Significant Breakthrough in Bajali Corruption Case

Guwahati, 3rd September: In a crucial development concerning the Bajali corruption case, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Assam made a significant arrest on Saturday night. The apprehension of an individual with ties between the police and a prominent businessman has brought the total number of arrests in this ongoing investigation to eight.

The arrested individual, identified as Kishore Baruah, was taken into custody from Bhabanipur in Assam’s Barpeta district. Sources indicate that Kishore Baruah had a brokerage role and maintained close associations with the previously arrested ASP Gayatri Sonowal and her family.

It has come to light that Kishore Baruah allegedly provided Gayatri Sonowal with a luxury Toyota Fortuner before her apprehension. Furthermore, he is suspected to have been involved in money laundering activities, with funds transferred through the bank account of Gayatri’s driver, Nabir Ahmed, who is already under the custody of CID Assam.

The recent arrest and ongoing investigation reveal intricate connections and financial dealings within the Bajali corruption case, shedding light on the depth and complexity of the alleged corruption network.
