Sikkim Celebrates Remarkable Surge in CBSE Results, Chief Minister Hails “Education Revolution”

Gangtok: Sikkim erupted in jubilation as the state witnessed an unprecedented leap in CBSE examination results for 2025, prompting Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang to issue a heartfelt congratulatory message to students statewide.

The Chief Minister characterized the academic achievement as a landmark moment, signifying a profound advancement in the state’s educational trajectory. The collective elation stemmed from a dramatic increase in pass percentages, a testament to the combined resilience of students, the dedication of educators, and the strategic interventions of the state government.

In the Class 10 examinations, Sikkim’s pass percentage soared from a previous 66.87% in 2024 to a remarkable 79.97% in 2025, representing a significant 13-point surge. This dramatic improvement was evenly distributed across both government and private educational institutions, underscoring a comprehensive enhancement in academic performance throughout the state. The positive trend was further solidified in the Class 12 results, which saw an increase from 87.49% to 89.41%.

Chief Minister Tamang, in his official statement, emphasized that the results transcended mere numerical figures, instead serving as a powerful illustration of the students’ unwavering dedication, the educators’ steadfast commitment, and the transformative influence of the government’s sustained investment in the education sector. He particularly acknowledged the pivotal role of the state’s Mentorship Programme, a flagship initiative implemented across all 32 constituencies, in providing robust academic support to students.

The Chief Minister declared the results as the dawn of a genuine “education revolution” in Sikkim, urging all stakeholders to persistently nurture talent, recognize hard work, and ensure equitable access to quality education for every child, regardless of their socioeconomic background.

He reiterated his government’s unwavering commitment to fostering a future where exceptional education is within reach for all. “Once again, congratulations to all the students and their families,” he concluded, “You make Sikkim proud!”
