Sikkim: Citizen Action Party Announces Second List of Candidates for Assembly Elections

Northeast Desk, 24th March: The Citizen Action Party (CAP) in Sikkim has unveiled its second list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections, along with the name of one Lok Sabha candidate.

In the second list, candidates for three Assembly constituencies have been announced. Tikaram Sharma will contest from Rhenock, Phuri Sherpa from Gnathang Machong, and Songmit Lepcha from Lachen-Mangan constituency.

Additionally, Bharat Basnett has been named as the Lok Sabha candidate for the Citizen Action Party.

Earlier, CAP had declared its first list of candidates for the assembly election, comprising 14 candidates.

Sikkim has a total of 32 assembly seats and one Lok Sabha seat. CAP has decided to contest the elections independently without forming any alliances.

The candidates announced in the first phase include:

  • Hari Chandra Chettri from Namthang Rateypani
  • Jigme Bhutia from Yuksom Tashiding
  • Yangthang Phip from Dhoj Limboo
  • Darmadin Pem from Dorjee Sherpa
  • Zoom Salghari from Kaushal Lohagun
  • Mahesh Rai from Namchi
  • Severen Rai from Namcheybong
  • Sumati Chettri from Khamdong
  • Rabi Gurung from Upper Tadong
  • Risckis Pradhan from Arithan
  • Dawcho Lepcha from Gangtok
  • Bhim Kumar Tamang from Upper Burtuk
  • Jorbu Lepcha from Dzongu
  • Tsampo Narchu Lepcha from Sangha
