Sikkim CM Facilitates Medical Airlift for Ailing Resident, Student Community Rallies for Peer’s Treatment
Northeast Desk, 4th May: Under the compassionate guidance of Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, Sandhya Pradhan, a resident of Poklok Kamrang, received a lifeline as she was airlifted to BLK Max Super Speciality Hospital in New Delhi on May 3 from Siliguri. Pradhan, a 22-year-old patient, had been undergoing treatment at Anandalok Hospital for Necrotizing Pancreatitis. Her family expressed profound gratitude to the Chief Minister for the critical assistance provided during this challenging time.
Meanwhile, in a heartwarming display of solidarity and compassion, students from Sikkim University took to the streets on April 30, not for festivities, but to support their fellow student, Rohan Giri, who is facing a dire medical crisis. Giri, a student of the Sikkim University’s law department, suffered a major brain stroke on April 22, plunging him into a critical condition.
In a remarkable gesture of camaraderie, his peers banded together, engaging in busking activities at MG Marg to raise funds for his urgent medical treatment. Anukul Limboo, President of Sikkim University Students’ Association (SUSA), leading this compassionate initiative, highlighted the noble cause behind their efforts. He stated, “Today, we’re not singing for amusement. We’re singing to save a life, to help our friend Rohan Giri fight against this unforeseen adversity.”
