Sikkim CM Orders Crackdown on Unclean Toilets in Petrol Pumps, Govt Offices
Gyalshing: Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has announced strict action against petrol pumps and government offices failing to maintain sanitary restrooms, warning of closures and penalties for non-compliance.
Speaking at the inauguration of Lebunba Pungwa Ne-ing Yuk Him (Manghim) at Yuma Yok, Darap, CM Tamang emphasized that cleanliness is a core cultural value of Sikkim and must be upheld.
• Petrol pumps with unclean toilets will face immediate bans and penalties.
• Police personnel will conduct inspections to ensure hygiene standards.
• Government offices must maintain sanitation, with district collectors authorized to suspend officials for negligence.
CM Tamang linked a clean environment to a positive mindset, urging authorities and citizens to work collectively for a hygienic and well-maintained Sikkim.
