Sikkim CM Prem Singh Tamang Meets MP Sambit Patra to Discuss State’s Welfare

Northeast Desk, 4th August: Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang met with Lok Sabha MP Sambit Patra on August 4 at his official residence, expressing gratitude for Patra’s support and collaboration with Sikkim. Patra, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP, had arrived at Bagdogra Airport on August 3 for a two-day visit to Sikkim.

During their meeting, CM Tamang praised Patra’s insights and contributions, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and collaboration for the welfare of Sikkim and the nation. Tamang shared his appreciation on Facebook, stating, “Earlier today, I had the pleasure of meeting the Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Puri, Sambit Patra, at my official residence. His presence and insights, reflecting the spirit of cooperation and collaboration essential for the welfare of our state and country, are greatly appreciated.”

On August 3, Patra held an interactive session with local stakeholders, discussing the significant benefits Sikkim is set to receive from the Union Budget 2024-25. He highlighted several key allocations and initiatives focused on enhancing the state’s infrastructure, rural development, and welfare programs.

Patra also noted that Sikkim has the highest percentage of working women in the country, at 58.4 percent, showcasing the state’s progress in gender equality and workforce participation.

The meeting between CM Tamang and MP Patra underscores the ongoing efforts to bolster Sikkim’s development through collaborative initiatives and effective governance.
