Sikkim CM Prem Singh Tamang Visits Flood-Hit Majuwa Village, Assures Support to Affected Families
Northeast Desk, 15th June: Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang visited Majuwa village in Yangang, South Sikkim, recently devastated by a flash flood. The catastrophic incident resulted in the tragic loss of three lives and caused widespread destruction, damaging more than ten houses in the area.
During his visit, CM Tamang met with the affected families, assuring them of all possible assistance and rehabilitation support from the government. He emphasized the administration’s commitment to providing comprehensive aid to help the villagers recover and rebuild their lives.
Earlier, a massive landslide struck Gauthaley in Samdong, within the Tumin Lingee constituency, causing extensive damage. The landslide destroyed paddy fields, the village’s main footpath, and all water supply systems, leaving the community grappling with significant infrastructure losses and disrupted daily life.
The government is working diligently to address the aftermath of these natural disasters, ensuring the affected communities receive the necessary support to restore normalcy.
