Sikkim CM Wishes Dalai Lama Speedy Recovery Following Successful Surgery
Northeast Desk, 29th June: Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang expressed his joy upon hearing news of the successful knee replacement surgery undergone by His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama. Speaking on behalf of the people of Sikkim, CM Tamang extended heartfelt wishes for the spiritual leader’s swift recovery and continued good health.
In his message, CM Tamang conveyed, “May the blessings of His Holiness continue to grace the entire world.” This sentiment reflects the profound respect and admiration held by the people of Sikkim towards the Dalai Lama, renowned globally for his wisdom, compassion, and efforts towards promoting peace.
The Dalai Lama’s successful surgery has been a cause of happiness for his followers worldwide, and CM Tamang’s sincere wishes resonate deeply with the sentiments of the people of Sikkim.
Earlier announcements from the Dalai Lama’s office indicated his upcoming travel to the United States for medical treatment related to his knees, prompting the suspension of all public engagements starting June 20 until further notice. The return of His Holiness to Dharamsala will mark the resumption of his regular activities.
In recent months, the Dalai Lama’s activities included receiving Lord Buddha’s sacred Kapilavastu relics in April, an event of great historical and spiritual significance in Sri Lanka, further reinforcing his profound influence and legacy among devotees worldwide.
