Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang successfully concluded a three-day public outreach programme, ‘Janta Bhet Karyakram,’ at Mamring Gaushala in Amba, directly engaging with thousands of residents from the Rhenock constituency. The initiative, held from February 23 to 25, aimed to enhance government accessibility and address public concerns, bringing the administration closer to the people.

With over 1,200 individuals meeting the Chief Minister daily, an estimated 4,000 people benefited from the interactive sessions. The programme commenced at Padamchey Secondary School, continued at the Rhenock Forest Bungalow, and concluded at Mamring Gaushala. Citizens voiced concerns on infrastructure, water supply, healthcare, education, and employment, receiving direct responses from government officials and department heads present at the event.

Expressing gratitude for the overwhelming participation, CM Tamang emphasized the importance of grassroots-level engagement in effective governance. “The Janta Bhet Karyakram with the people of Rhenock constituency has successfully concluded today at Mamring Gaushala. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the dignitaries, officials, volunteers, and party workers who made this event a success. Most importantly, I deeply appreciate the support of the people, without whom this would not have been possible,” Tamang stated.

Senior government officials attended the sessions, offering immediate solutions to grievances and providing insights into welfare schemes. The event witnessed participation from residents across Budang Kamarey GPU, East Pendam GPU, and several wards under Chalamthang Pacheykhani GPU, reflecting a widespread public interest in the initiative.

Beyond policy discussions, CM Tamang personally extended financial aid to the elderly, medical patients, and students facing hardships, reinforcing the government’s commitment to timely assistance. Many attendees praised the initiative, highlighting its role in bridging the gap between the administration and the public.

With the success of the Rhenock outreach, CM Tamang pledged to continue similar programmes across other constituencies, ensuring that citizens’ voices remain at the forefront of governance in Sikkim.
