Sikkim CMO Introduces New Guidelines for Government Functions to Enhance Efficiency and Simplicity
Gangtok: The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) of Sikkim has issued a circular detailing new guidelines designed to streamline government functions, emphasizing efficiency and simplicity. The directives, released by the Principal Secretary, aim to standardize official events across the state.
A significant change introduced in the memo is the restriction on the duration of functions, urging all events to adhere to a set time frame, thereby ensuring brevity in proceedings.
Furthermore, the guidelines specify that only water will be served on stage, with no other refreshments allowed. This move is intended to simplify arrangements and maintain a consistent standard across all official gatherings.
Additionally, the circular has mandated a shift in seating arrangements, replacing sofas with regular chairs equipped with cushions. This adjustment seeks to present a more uniform and practical setup for attendees.
These measures have been communicated to all Secretaries and Heads of Departments (HoDs), who have been instructed to enforce the guidelines with immediate effect. The government hopes these steps will enhance decorum and reduce unnecessary formalities, promoting a more efficient and straightforward approach to official events in Sikkim.
