Sikkim: Completion of Bamboo Suspension Foot Bridge Connects Dzongu Community

Northeast Desk, 13th October: The Bamboo Suspension Foot Bridge, constructed in Sangkalang, represents an exceptional project that has been completed through the combined efforts of engineers, forest officials, the Indian Army, and the local community. This remarkable initiative, overseen by the Mangan District Zilla Panchayat and led by DE Zilla Saroj Adhikari, along with AEs Zilla Karma Sonam and Tenzing Lachungpa, is set to transform the lives of the people of Dzongu.

MLA Dzongu, Mr. Pintso Namgyal Lepcha, has taken a personal interest in supervising the bridge’s construction and has worked closely with district officials to ensure its success.

The bamboo suspension foot bridge holds great significance for the residents of Dzongu, providing them with a vital passageway to connect to Mangan. However, the community’s determination to facilitate connectivity doesn’t stop there. They have also constructed a zipline, further improving the distribution of essential goods to the people of Dzongu, showing their relentless spirit and dedication.
