Sikkim: Dalai Lama’s Visit as Preparations in Full Swing, CM Tamang reviews preparations

Northeast Desk, 10th December: Preparations are in full swing in Sikkim for the visit of the Tibetan Spiritual Leader, Dalai Lama, scheduled from 11 to 13 December 2023. The three-day visit includes a teaching session by the Dalai Lama at Paljor Stadium in Gangtok on 12 December, expected to attract 40,000 devotees.

The Dalai Lama is set to arrive at the Libing Army helipad on 11 December. Comprehensive preparations and security arrangements have been finalized, and a briefing session was conducted for volunteers and security personnel.

On 12 December, to manage the influx of devotees, there will be no taxi services, and shuttle buses will be arranged.

Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang reviewed the preparations at Paljor Stadium, ensuring all necessary arrangements are in place for the Dalai Lama’s teachings.

The visit is anticipated to be a significant spiritual event for the region.
