Sikkim Delegation Attends National Monsoon Meeting on Animal Husbandry in Odisha

Northeast Desk, 14th September: A high-level delegation from Sikkim’s Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services (AHVS) Department, led by Minister Puran Gurung, took part in the national Monsoon meeting held yesterday at the Lokasewa Bhawan Convention Center in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The delegation included Secretary Dr. Sharman Rai and Additional Director Dr. Pem T. Bhutia.

The meeting, attended by dignitaries from across India, aimed to address critical issues related to the animal husbandry and veterinary sector. Key topics of discussion included livestock welfare and strategies for sustainable development in the sector.

The event was presided over by the Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, with the Chief Minister of Odisha and Union Ministers of State in attendance. Animal husbandry ministers from 15 states, along with officials from the Government of India and Odisha, also participated in the gathering.

The national Monsoon meeting provided a platform for sharing insights and exploring innovative solutions to ensure the well-being of livestock and promote growth in the animal husbandry sector.
