Sikkim Democratic Front Unveils Ambitious Manifesto Ahead of Elections
Northeast Desk, 7th April: The Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) has unveiled its comprehensive manifesto, outlining a bold vision for the state’s future and promising transformative changes if elected to power. At the core of their agenda lies a steadfast commitment to prioritize the welfare and prosperity of the people of Sikkim.
Among the key highlights of the SDF manifesto is a groundbreaking pledge to waive off loans up to 5 lakh rupees, offering much-needed relief to individuals burdened by debt and empowering them to pursue a better quality of life.
In a move aimed at enhancing work-life balance and promoting leisure, the SDF promises to declare all Saturdays and birthdays as holidays, providing citizens with more time for relaxation and celebration with their loved ones.
The party reaffirms its dedication to safeguarding the unique identity and autonomy of Sikkim by pledging to uphold the sanctity of Article 371 F, ensuring that the state’s distinct cultural heritage and traditions are preserved for future generations.
Demonstrating a commitment to spiritual values, the manifesto includes plans to fund a pilgrimage for 4000 Buddhist monks to Dominica to seek the blessings of Karmapa, underscoring the party’s reverence for religious practices and beliefs.
In a bid to tackle unemployment head-on, the SDF introduces the ambitious ‘One Vote One Job’ initiative, promising job opportunities for every vote cast. This groundbreaking initiative aims to provide meaningful employment opportunities to the state’s youth and address the pressing issue of unemployment effectively.
Economic growth and development take center stage in the SDF manifesto, with plans outlined for a substantial investment of 2 lakh crore rupees over the next five years. Furthermore, the SDF pledges to regularize temporary employee positions, ensuring job security and benefits for workers across various sectors. Additionally, the manifesto guarantees 50 per cent seat reservation for women in all sectors, including jobs and politics, as part of efforts to promote gender equality and empower women in the state.
