Sikkim: Former SIDICO Chairman Janak Gurung Joins BJP
Northeast Desk, 26th March: Janak Gurung, the former chairman of Sikkim Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (SIDICO) and resident of Yangthang, has officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), marking a significant political development in Sikkim.
State President DR Thapa warmly welcomed Gurung into the party fold during a special event, which was attended by Namchi District President CL Gurung and other party executives.
Gurung’s decision to join the BJP comes amidst a series of resignations from the party, including those of Rajkumari Thapa, MLA for Yangang Rangang, Pinsto Namgyal Lepcha, MLA for Dzongu, and Sonam Venchungpa, MLA for Martam Rumtek.
