Sikkim: Gangtok DAC Embraces Modernisation with Advanced Systems and Infrastructure

Gangtok: The District Administrative Centre (DAC) in Gangtok achieved a major milestone in its journey toward modernization with the inauguration of advanced systems and upgraded infrastructure.

The event, held on January 16, was led by Kala Rai, MLA of Burtuk and Advisor to the Rural Development Department, who launched several key projects, including a Renovated Single Window System, a Token Management System, and various beautification initiatives within the DAC complex.

Kala Rai was warmly received by District Magistrate Tushar Nikhare and other senior officials, including Senior Superintendent of Police Gangtok Tenzing Loden, Additional District Magistrate Sisum Wangchuk Bhutia, and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Girdhari Lal Meena. The event also saw the presence of Zilla Panchayat members and DAC staff.

The highlight of the inauguration was the Token Management System, a cutting-edge mechanism designed to enhance the efficiency of public service delivery by streamlining the management of work requests. During her visit, Rai interacted with the window cell staff, emphasizing the importance of professionalism and dedication in delivering public services. District Magistrate Nikhare provided a detailed briefing on the system’s user-friendly design and its role in ensuring operational transparency.

As part of the event, Rai toured the revamped DAC complex, which now features historic photographs that chronicle Sikkim’s administrative evolution. She also inaugurated newly established offices for the Sub-Divisional Magistrate and Assistant Collector, reflecting the district’s commitment to improved governance.

Another innovation launched during the ceremony was the Online Leave Management System, aimed at eliminating paper-based workflows and enhancing organizational productivity through a streamlined digital interface.

Commending the DAC officials, Rai underscored the significance of teamwork in driving these transformative changes. She highlighted the potential of the new systems to improve administrative efficiency and deliver better public services, marking a new chapter in Gangtok’s administrative evolution.
