Sikkim: Gangtok Prepares for Landmark Cultural and Sporting Extravaganza in 2025
Gangtok: A pivotal coordination meeting, held at the prestigious Hotel Norkhil in Gangtok, has set the stage for the highly anticipated Discover State Level Ravangla Chozo Fest 2025 and the inaugural Chief Minister Volleyball Gold Cup.
Spearheaded by Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay, the gathering aimed to meticulously plan and finalize the arrangements for the festival, a key event in Sikkim’s 50th year of statehood celebrations, scheduled from April 11 to 16, 2025.
MLA Riksal Dorjee Bhutia presided over the meeting, which was attended by a distinguished roster of officials and community leaders. Notable attendees included State Youth Wing President Lakpa Moktan, Press Secretary to the CM Yougan Tamang, OSD (Political Affairs) Karma Subba, AA1 Contractor Tashi Gyalpo Bhutia, Former APS Pakyong Bishal Pokhrel, SKM Vice President & TAAS President Norgay Lachungpa, and representatives from the Department of Tourism and Civil Aviation. Former SKM Student Wing President Chopel Sherpa and State Organization Secretary (Press & Publicity) Tashi D. Bhutia also contributed to the discussions.
The core agenda revolved around bolstering community involvement, maximizing tourism opportunities, and transforming Ravangla into a vibrant center for culture and sports. The Discover Ravangla Chozo Fest 2025 is designed to provide local artists, artisans, and entrepreneurs with a prominent platform to exhibit their skills and products. Concurrently, the Chief Minister Volleyball Gold Cup aims to draw elite volleyball teams, promoting athletic excellence and encouraging youthful participation.
The strategic vision for the festival underscores Sikkim’s profound cultural legacy, economic advancement, and tourism expansion. It is anticipated that the event will generate enduring socio-economic prospects and cultivate a sense of unity across diverse communities.
