The state of Sikkim is gearing up to commemorate its 50th Statehood Day in May 2025. A high-level meeting chaired by Chief Secretary VB Pathak was held to discuss the extensive preparations for this historic milestone.
The meeting focused on the key arrangements for the main event on May 16th and the year-long celebrations that will follow. Pathak emphasized the importance of seamless coordination among various departments to ensure the success of this momentous occasion.
To streamline the preparations, additional responsibilities have been assigned to different departments.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to grace the grand celebration in Gangtok as the chief guest. The event promises to be a spectacular showcase of Sikkim’s rich cultural heritage and its remarkable journey as a state.
