Sikkim Gears Up for Vice President’s 2025 Visit, High-Level Meeting Convenes

Gangtok, Sikkim – A meticulous planning session unfolded at the Tashiling Secretariat today, as Chief Secretary R. Telang presided over a high-level preparatory meeting for the anticipated visit of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar to Sikkim, scheduled for May 17–18, 2025. The assembly focused on orchestrating a seamless and secure experience for the Vice President’s two-day sojourn.

The meeting delved into the intricate details of the visit, encompassing itinerary finalization, meticulously designed program formats, logistical considerations, stringent security measures, the appointment of liaison officers, comfortable accommodation, efficient transportation, comprehensive medical support, and precise catering arrangements, alongside the allocation of necessary budget provisions. The intricate planning aimed to address every conceivable aspect of the visit.

Vice President Dhankhar’s itinerary will include an engaging interactive session with the student community, providing a platform for intellectual exchange and dialogue. Furthermore, a significant segment of his visit will be dedicated to the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, underscoring the importance of legislative engagement and understanding.

The meeting saw the active participation of Heads of Departments and senior officials from all pertinent line departments, reflecting the collaborative approach adopted by the Sikkim administration. Chief Secretary Telang emphasized the critical need for coordinated efforts across all departments, stressing that only through unified action could the visit be rendered a resounding success.
