Sikkim Government Appoints New Director of Vigilance Police

Gangtok: The Government of Sikkim has appointed N. Sridhar Rao, a seasoned law enforcement officer, as the new Director of Sikkim Vigilance Police.

Mr. Rao, a 1994-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, brings a wealth of experience to this critical role. Prior to this appointment, he served as the SDGP (Special Director General of Police) for Planning and Modernization within the Sikkim Police Department.

With his extensive experience and proven leadership, Mr. Rao is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening the integrity and accountability of the Sikkim government.

The official order announcing his appointment also states that Mr. Rao will relinquish his additional responsibilities as SDGP, Coordination, and OSD (Officer on Special Duty) for the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department in New Delhi, along with his command over the 1st IRBn (Indian Reserve Battalion) stationed in New Delhi.
