Gangtok: In a significant move, the Sikkim Government announced a series of administrative changes within the Land Revenue and Disaster Management Department on December 23, 2024.
The reshuffles, detailed in official order No. 346/G/DOP, are effective immediately and involve key postings across the state.
Abhijeet Rajendra Patil, IAS (SK:2022), who previously served as Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Kabi Sub-Division, has been reassigned as SDM, Mangan.
The move reflects the government’s strategic approach to optimizing administrative efficiency in critical regions.
Yogen Syangden, SCS, formerly the Deputy Commissioner of the Commercial Taxes Division in Jorethang under the Finance Department, has been repatriated and posted as SDM, Jorethang.
Meanwhile, Prakash Rai, SCS, the outgoing SDM of Mangan, has been transferred to the Commerce and Industries Department as Deputy Secretary.
Monika Rai, SCS, who previously served as SDM, Jorethang, has been appointed as SDM of the Kabi Sub-Division, a role previously held by Abhijeet Rajendra Patil.
Additionally, Sunny Kharel, SCS, the former SDM of Soreng District, will now serve as Deputy Secretary-cum-Staff Officer in the Office of the Chief Secretary, Home Department.
These changes underscore the government’s focus on aligning administrative roles with developmental priorities, ensuring streamlined governance and effective service delivery across the state.
