Sikkim Governor Visits Nathula, Interacts with Indian Army Soldiers

Gangtok: Sikkim Governor Om Prakash Mathur visited Nathula on May 4, where he interacted with Indian Army soldiers. During the visit, the Governor appreciated the dedication, courage, and loyalty of the soldiers towards the nation.

The General Officer Commanding of 17th Mountain Division, Major General M S Rathore, was present on the occasion and provided the Governor with detailed information on the glorious history of Nathula.

The Governor also visited Baba Harbhajan Singh’s temple during his trip. Additionally, he visited Kupup, a vibrant village, where he interacted with the locals.

During the interactive session, the gram panchayat representatives and the general public raised regional issues, including basic facilities and employment creation.

The Governor asked the villagers to work with the state government and the Indian Army to fulfill the resolution of ‘developed Sikkim, developed India’.

He emphasized the importance of collective efforts in achieving development goals. During the visit, the Governor also stopped by the Yak Golf Course, where he interacted with army personnel.

The Governor’s visit to Nathula and Kupup highlighted his commitment to engaging with locals and understanding their concerns. His interaction with the Indian Army soldiers and personnel also underscored the importance of the armed forces in maintaining national security and integrity.
