Sikkim: Indian Army Showcases Advanced Combat Readiness in ‘Teesta Prahar’ Field Exercise
North Bengal–Sikkim Sector: In a powerful affirmation of its all-terrain combat preparedness and modern warfare capabilities, the Indian Army successfully conducted the large-scale joint field training exercise ‘Teesta Prahar’ at the Teesta Field Firing Range from May 8 to 10, 2025.
Held in the challenging riverine terrain of the North Bengal–Sikkim sector, the exercise was designed to simulate real-time battlefield conditions and tested integrated warfighting, operational synergy, and technological dominance.
Key highlights included:
• Participation of multiple arms and services, including Infantry, Artillery, Armoured Corps, Mechanised Infantry, Engineers, Signals, Para Special Forces, and Army Aviation.
• Operational validation of next-generation weapon systems, high-mobility platforms, precision strike capabilities, and cutting-edge surveillance technologies.
• Extensive use of drones, modern battlefield communication systems, and firepower platforms.
• Synchronized tactical drills such as coordinated assaults, air-ground integration, mobility drills, and fire support operations.
The drill showcased the Army’s rapid response capability and interoperability across arms, reinforcing readiness to meet evolving security threats.
Senior commanders lauded the troops for their professionalism, adaptability, and morale, with one officer calling the exercise a “testimony to the Indian Army’s sharpened edge and strategic depth.”
As regional complexities rise, ‘Teesta Prahar’ has set a benchmark for future-ready warfare, reflecting the Indian Army’s relentless pursuit of operational excellence and mission readiness under the Eastern Command.
