Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Alliance for Sikkim Elections Called Off

Northeast Desk, 23rd March: The much-anticipated pre-poll alliance between the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the forthcoming Sikkim elections has been officially called off. This decision was confirmed by BJP Spokesperson Passang Sherpa.

The BJP President, DR Thapa, announced that the party has opted to contest the elections independently, marking a significant shift from earlier speculations. The state BJP team, currently en route to Sikkim, is scheduled to arrive today, with definitive plans to field candidates for all Assembly seats as well as the lone Lok Sabha seat.

Thapa further disclosed that the BJP’s roster of candidates will be unveiled tonight, with the remaining names slated for announcement tomorrow. Upon their return to Sikkim, Thapa intends to provide clarity on the reasons behind the dissolution of the anticipated alliance, shedding light on the intricacies that led to this outcome.
