Sikkim: Meticulous Preparations Underway for Election Results Counting in Soreng District
Northeast Desk, 9th May: With the eagerly anticipated election results looming on the horizon, meticulous preparations have commenced in the Soreng district. The counting, scheduled for the 2nd and 4th of June, for both assembly and parliamentary polls, is poised to be a pivotal moment in the democratic process, shaping the political landscape of the region.
At the helm of these preparations is the District Administrative Centre (DAC) in Soreng, where the initial randomization of counting personnel took place. Chaired by Ms. Yishey D Yongda, the District Electoral Officer (DEO) and Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Soreng, the process witnessed the participation of key officials, including Mr. Dhiraj Subedi, Deputy DEO and Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Soreng, and Mr. DR Bista, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) at Headquarters.
A meticulously selected contingent of 198 counting personnel, comprising Supervisors, Counting Assistants, and Micro Observers, will oversee the process. The selection process, conducted with transparency and integrity, utilized the National Informatics Centre (NIC) portal for the randomization procedure.
