Sikkim Minister N.B. Dahal Announces Infrastructure Upgrades to Boost Tourism in Rabongla
Rabongla, Sikkim – Sikkim’s Minister of Road & Bridges, N.B. Dahal, has announced significant infrastructure enhancements in Rabongla, a key tourism hub in the state.
This initiative aligns with Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang’s vision under the BiPaSa (Bijuli, Pani, Sadak) program, which aims to improve essential services and infrastructure across Sikkim.
During a recent site inspection, Minister Dahal assessed the area’s pressing needs alongside Barfung MLA Riksal Dorjee Bhutia and Assistant Engineer Kinga Chopel Bhutia from the Rabongla Public Works Department (PWD).
Emphasizing the necessity for improved road conditions, Dahal directed the commencement of essential carpeting work on the Damthang to Rabongla road, which is heavily trafficked by both locals and tourists. “Smoother and safer roads are crucial for promoting tourism and enhancing local convenience,” he stated.
In addition to the road carpeting, an extension project at Putali Vir will be initiated to accommodate the growing volume of traffic in the area. Minister Dahal assured the community that these projects will begin promptly, with work orders anticipated within the next one to two months.
These infrastructure improvements reflect the state government’s ongoing commitment to the BiPaSa initiative, aiming to bolster economic growth and elevate tourism in Sikkim’s picturesque destinations. The enhancements in Rabongla are expected to attract more visitors and support the local economy, showcasing the region’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.
