Sikkim MP Indra Hang Subba Meets Governor, Raises Limboo-Tamang Reservation and Pakyong Airport Issues
Gangtok: Sikkim Lok Sabha MP Indra Hang Subba met Governor Om Prakash Mathur at the Raj Bhavan to discuss key developmental and administrative concerns affecting the state.
In the meeting held on Wednesday, Subba highlighted the long-pending issue of reservation for Limboo and Tamang communities in the state Legislative Assembly. Although the two communities were granted Scheduled Tribe status in 2003, the implementation of Assembly seat reservation is still awaited. Subba urged the governor to intervene and expedite the process.
He also stressed the need for integrating remote regions of Sikkim into the larger development framework, ensuring that no area is left behind in the state’s growth.
Another major concern raised was the irregular flight operations at Pakyong Airport, which have impacted both connectivity and tourism. Subba requested the governor to extend support for strengthening aviation infrastructure and ensuring regular and reliable flight services.
Governor Mathur assured the MP that he would take up these issues with the relevant central authorities, expressing commitment to Sikkim’s inclusive and sustainable development.
