Sikkim MP Indra Hang Subba Participates in First Estimates Committee Meeting
Northeast Desk, 23rd August: Indra Hang Subba, the Member of Parliament representing Sikkim, attended his inaugural meeting of the Estimates Committee today at the Parliament House Annexe in New Delhi. The session was presided over by Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal, the committee’s Chairperson.
Subba’s election to this influential parliamentary body comes on the heels of the 2024 Budget Session, marking a significant step in his political career. The Estimates Committee is crucial in scrutinizing the budget estimates of various Indian Ministries, playing a vital role in shaping economic policies and ensuring fiscal accountability.
Prior to this, Subba has served on several notable committees, including those for the Ministry of Rural Development, the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, and Government Assurances. His extensive experience in these roles has equipped him well for the responsibilities that come with his new position.
