Sikkim MP Indra Hang Subba Welcomes Resumption of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra in 2025
Gangtok: Sikkim’s Lok Sabha MP, Indra Hang Subba, has expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the Indian government’s decision to resume the revered Kailash Mansarovar Yatra in the summer of 2025.
This announcement follows discussions between Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, marking a significant development in spiritual, cultural, and diplomatic relations between India and China.
Speaking on behalf of the people of Sikkim, especially the pilgrims, Subba emphasized the profound importance of this decision.
The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra holds deep spiritual significance for millions of devotees and symbolizes peace and devotion.
Subba noted that the resumption of the Yatra, particularly with the possibility of access via the Nathula Pass in East Sikkim, would make this sacred journey more accessible to pilgrims.
In addition, Subba expressed hope that the reopening of the Nathula trade route would accompany the Yatra.
He believes this initiative could boost local infrastructure, enhance trade, and promote economic collaboration between India and China, benefiting both nations.
The MP reiterated his unwavering support for initiatives that foster peace and cooperation and emphasized his commitment to advancing mutual understanding and trust between the two countries.
