Sikkim: Nathula Closed to Tourists on Jan 1 for Special Border Meeting

Gangtok: Ahead of a special border personnel meeting along the India-China boundary, tourists have been advised to avoid visiting Nathula in Sikkim on January 1, 2025.

A temporary restriction on the movement of tourists and civilians in and around Nathula will be in place to ensure smooth proceedings.

The special border personnel meeting will be held at Nathula, located on the Indian side, on the first day of 2025. While Nathula will be closed to tourists, other popular destinations like Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir will remain open to visitors.

Tourists are urged to plan their visit accordingly, taking note of the temporary restriction at Nathula. This restriction is necessary to facilitate the special meeting and ensure the safety and security of all parties involved.
