Gangtok: In a significant travel update, the National Highway 10—vital for connecting Sikkim and West Bengal’s Kalimpong with Siliguri—will remain closed on May 15, 17, and 19 due to scheduled maintenance work.
The National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) confirmed the development in an official notification released today.
According to the notice, the closure will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on all three days. The announcement is expected to impact the movement of both locals and tourists travelling along the busy Siliguri-Gangtok corridor, particularly during the ongoing travel season.
