Sikkim Police Arrest Samson Tamang in Bodhgaya After 13-Day Manhunt
Gangtok: In a significant breakthrough, a team led by SDPO Tashi Chopel Bhutia, in collaboration with Bihar Police (Gaya District), successfully arrested Samson Tamang in Bodhgaya on Wednesday night (February 19). The arrest follows an intensive 13-day search operation launched by Sikkim Police in response to a complaint against Tamang for alleged hate remarks.
A dedicated investigation team was formed, comprising Investigating Officer PI DP Limboo, PI Naresh Chhetri, SI Taman R. Gurung, and several police personnel. The team initiated their search in Siliguri, employing advanced technical surveillance and intelligence gathering. Their extensive probe covered multiple locations, including:
• North Bengal
• The Nepal border
• Delhi
• Kurseong and Darjeeling
• Naxalbari, Terai regions, Pani Tanki, and Salugara
The investigation gained momentum when technical intelligence pinpointed Bodhgaya, Bihar, as Tamang’s possible hideout. Acting swiftly, Sikkim Police coordinated with Bihar Police, leading to his successful capture.
Samson Tamang is now in police custody, and legal proceedings are underway. Authorities continue to investigate further developments related to the case.
