Sikkim Police Honored for Swift Recovery of Tourist’s Stolen Phone
Gangtok: A tourist from Bhubaneswar, Odisha, Mahabahu Nayak, has showered accolades upon the Sikkim Police for their efficient and prompt action in recovering his stolen mobile phone in Gangtok. The incident occurred at the popular MG Market, a vibrant hub for visitors in the state capital.
The theft was officially reported at Sadar Police Station with General Diary (GD) entry No. 48/02.04.2025, registered at 9:40 pm on April 2, 2025. Demonstrating remarkable efficiency, the police team successfully tracked and recovered the device, informing Nayak of their success on April 10. The positive news was conveyed through a message stating “got the phone,” accompanied by an image under Request ID: 202504070216208228.
Overwhelmed with gratitude, Nayak specifically commended LNK Namrata Sewa of the Tracking Department at Sadar Police Station for her outstanding support. He praised her consistent communication, empathetic approach, and unwavering professionalism throughout the entire recovery process.
“Reliability is a trait that is often underestimated but highly valued. Namrata Sewa went above and beyond to assist a tourist in an unfamiliar place, offering assurance, empathy, and exceptional service,” Nayak stated.
He also expressed his sincere appreciation to PI Niraj Khatiwara, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Sadar Police Station, for his exemplary leadership in overseeing the successful operation. “Your attention to detail, dedication, and commitment to excellence were instrumental in this success,” he noted.
