Sikkim Sets International Record with 1,100 Students Performing Chutkey Dance on 50th Statehood Day

Gangtok: Sikkim marked its 50th Statehood Day with an awe-inspiring celebration, as 1,100 students from across the state came together to perform the traditional Chutkey Naach, earning a place in the International Book of Records.

The grand event, held in the presence of Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang and Governor Om Prakash Mathur, turned into a historic tribute to the state’s cultural richness and unity.

The mass performance featured students adorned in colourful traditional attire, moving in synchronised steps to the beat of folk instruments.
