Sikkim Shines at 1st Northeast Para-Sports Meet 2024 in Guwahati

Sikkim: Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang expressed immense pride as eight para-athletes from the state delivered exceptional performances at the 1st Northeast Para-Sports Meet 2024, held in Guwahati, Assam.

Phuntsok Tashi Bhutia made history by securing a Gold medal in Table Tennis, marking a moment of glory for Sikkim. In swimming, Nima Dorjee Tamang brought home a Bronze medal in the 100 m Freestyle event. Adding to the state’s achievements, Sher Bahadur Thapa and DB Basnet won Bronze medals in the Shot Put category, further showcasing the talent and determination of Sikkim’s para-athletes.

Chief Minister Tamang congratulated the athletes on their remarkable success. “Heartiest congratulations to all the participants and medalists for their outstanding accomplishments!
