Gangtok: In a shocking incident, unknown miscreants stole materials valued at Rs 8-9 lakh from an under-construction building on MG Marg, Gangtok. The theft was reported on January 4, 2025, by the property owner, Jamyang Palmu Bhutia, after the site had been left unattended for a month.
Among the items stolen were electric wires, taps, and lift materials, all essential for the ongoing construction project. The police have registered the case as Sadar PS FIR No. 01/2025 under Sections 303(2)/112(2)/329(3) of the BNSS Act, 2023.
Law enforcement officials have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the culprits responsible for the theft. While no arrests or detentions have been made yet, efforts are actively underway to solve the case and recover the stolen materials.
