Sikkim Tourism Minister Tshering T Bhutia Explores Sports Hub Potential in Meeting with Cricket Coach Gautam Gambhir

Northeast Desk, 5th September: In a bid to elevate Sikkim as a premier destination for sports tourism, Sikkim Tourism Minister Tshering T Bhutia met with Indian cricket team coach Gautam Gambhir in New Delhi on Wednesday. According to a statement issued by the state’s sports department, the two discussed Sikkim’s potential to become a sporting hub, leveraging its natural beauty and favorable environment for various sports.

Bhutia highlighted the state’s unique landscape and expressed his vision for Sikkim to become a top location for sports-related activities. Gautam Gambhir, in turn, conveyed his commitment to supporting the development of sports infrastructure across the country. The meeting marks a step forward in Sikkim’s aspirations to foster a thriving sports tourism sector.

The minister is in Delhi attending a conference on industries.
