Sikkim Under-14 Cricket Team Gears Up for North East Little Master Trophy in Assam

Sports: Sikkim’s Under-14 cricket team is set to embark on their campaign in the prestigious North East Little Master Trophy, with their opening clash scheduled against Tripura.

The tournament, a significant event in the regional cricketing calendar, is being hosted in Assam and will witness the participation of promising young cricketers from across the Northeastern states. This platform offers these budding talents an invaluable opportunity to demonstrate their abilities and represent their respective states with immense pride.

The Sikkim Cricket Association has officially unveiled an enthusiastic 18-member squad that will carry the hopes of the state in this competitive tournament.

Leading this young brigade will be Osum Chettri, who has been entrusted with the captaincy, while Raunak Kumar Yadav will serve as the capable vice-captain, providing crucial support and leadership on and off the field.

These young cricketers have been diligently honing their skills and strategies during rigorous training sessions under the watchful eyes of a dedicated and experienced coaching staff.

Spearheading the coaching unit is Head Coach Nayan Tshring Bhutia, who is being ably assisted by Mandup Bhutia. Ensuring the physical readiness of the team is Strength and Conditioning Coach Bijay Subba, while Physio Somanm Yangzam Sherpa will look after their well-being.

The smooth functioning of the team’s logistics and overall management will be overseen by Team Manager Esther Seeju Tamang.

The talented pool of players selected to represent Sikkim includes MD Sakhil, Tshegyal Zangpo Bhutia, Satyam Pradhan, Ayush Ghimiray, Ayush Chaudary, Siddharth Sharma, Subhamdeep Mothay, Ashish Rawat, Abhimanu Sharma, Seeraj Pradhan, Chingzong Lepcha, Sushant Das Rai, Divyesh Chettri, Asish Gautam, Vikash Kumar Prasad, and Aomtsur Gyalchen Lepcha.

This tournament promises to be more than just a series of matches for these young athletes; it’s an invaluable chance to gain crucial match experience, refine their cricketing prowess, imbibe the spirit of teamwork, and compete at a higher level of the sport.
