Sikkim Urban Development Department Wins Prestigious PRAISE-2023-24 Award

Northeast Desk, 24th July: The Sikkim Urban Development department has been honored with the Performance Recognition for Access to Financial Inclusion and Street Vendors Empowerment (PRAISE-2023-24) Award for its exceptional performance under the PM Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PMSVANidhi) Scheme. The award recognizes Sikkim’s significant achievements in promoting financial inclusion and supporting street vendors.

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang announced the accolade following a meeting at his official residence with Urban Development Minister Bhoj Raj Rai, MLA Delay Namgyal Barfungpa, Secretary UDD M.T. Sherpa, and Mission Director Jigmee Bhutia.

Sikkim secured the second rank among hilly and northeastern states in the PM SVANidhi ‘PRAISE’ Awards 2023-24. Union Minister for Urban and Housing Affairs, Shri Manohar Lall Khattar, presented the award during a ceremony at the Habitat Centre in New Delhi on July 18, 2024.

Chief Minister Tamang extended his congratulations to the department for their diligent efforts and encouraged them to persist in their commitment to furthering their success.
