Sikkim’s Roads and Bridges Department Hosts Free Mega Health Camp, Serves 1,500 Patients

Northeast Desk, 23th September: The Roads and Bridges Department of Sikkim organized a two-day free mega health camp titled ‘Your Health, Our Priority’ at Sonamati Memorial Government Senior Secondary School in Khamdong from September 21-22, 2024. The camp, spearheaded by N.B. Dahal, Minister of Roads and Bridges and MLA of Khamdong-Singtam constituency, was held in collaboration with the Lions Club of Gangtok.

Nearly 1,500 patients from Khamdong and surrounding areas benefited from the camp, which included free medical consultations and medicine distribution. In his address, Minister Dahal emphasized the importance of raising health awareness among local communities that often face challenges accessing basic medical care. He expressed gratitude to the medical specialists for their selfless service and encouraged locals to make the most of the camp.

The camp featured a team of specialist doctors offering services in physiotherapy, dentistry, ophthalmology, pediatrics, nephrology, ENT, general medicine, gynecology, orthopedics, and cardiology. Additionally, a medical team from the Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Gangtok, provided comprehensive health check-ups for the residents.
