Sikkim’s Singtam Nagar Panchayat Takes Initiative for Cleaner Town
Gangtok: Singtam Nagar Panchayat staff, in a dedicated effort to promote cleanliness and sustainability, undertook a comprehensive cleanliness drive on December 8th.
The initiative, led by the Municipal President and Ward Councillor, focused on clearing roadside dumping zones, particularly the stretch from Bhanu Park Turning to the New Traffic Point, which had become a hotspot for indiscriminate garbage disposal.
The drive aimed to restore the town’s pristine beauty and encourage responsible waste management practices.
Meanwhile, Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, while addressing the Technical Session 1 of the Ashtalakshmi Mahotsav at New Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam, outlined his vision for the Northeast’s progress.
The session, themed ‘Towards Prosperity: Catalysing North East’s Progress for a Viksit Bharat,’ highlighted the region’s potential and the need for concerted efforts to unlock its full potential.
