Sikkim’s Voice Gets Louder in Delhi

New Delhi: Sikkim’s sole Member of Parliament, Indra Hang Subba, was a key presence in the national capital today, standing alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi, senior Union ministers, and other NDA leaders for the nomination filing of NDA’s vice-presidential candidate, CP Radhakrishnan. The event marked a significant moment for the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) party, signalling its growing importance within the national political landscape.

In a show of confidence and solidarity, Subba lauded the alliance’s pick, describing Radhakrishnan as a seasoned leader with a proven track record in governance. The SKM MP expressed his firm belief that Radhakrishnan’s elevation to the Vice President’s office would provide a strong boost to the NDA’s ongoing developmental initiatives and its overarching vision for national welfare.

Subba’s participation is being viewed by political watchers in Gangtok as a strategic move that not only strengthens Sikkim’s representation in central decision-making but also reinforces the NDA’s foothold in the crucial Northeast region. Analysts believe that this increased engagement will prove vital for the alliance as it charts its future political strategies, with Sikkim playing a more prominent role than ever before.
