Sinkhole Appears On Left Bank Of Assam’s NHPC’s Lower Subansiri Project
Guwahati: A large sinkhole emerged on Friday on a section of the road next to the Lower Subansiri Hydroelectricity Project on the Assam side.
According to reports, the project, which is near North Lakhimpur on the border of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam, has a sinkhole on the left bank.
The incident caused damage to the upper portions of tunnel number 2.
The sinkhole emerged during the recent days’ nonstop rainstorms that lashed the Arunachal Pradesh hills.
The National Hydro Electric Power Corporation’s (NHPC) project has endured the worst of nature over time.
Even with the use of contemporary technology, NHPC has not yet been able to guarantee the safety of the enormous project from the wrath of nature, despite the fact that 90% of the building work has already been completed.
